Chairman- Donald A. Gardner, Sr., AIA, NCARB
Donald A. Gardner, Sr., AIA, NCARB, is an active, hands-on professional who utilizes visionary talents and demonstrated skills for proven, innovative results. Among other companies, Don founded Donald A. Gardner Architects, Inc. in 1978; co-founded Donald A. Gardner Builders, Inc. in 1994; and helped launch Allora, LLC in 2002. Don oversees multiple companies through knowledge and experience. He is a registered architect, business strategist, planner, and problem-solver and is involved in various community organizations, most recently, the Board of Directors for the Greenville Hospital System.
President- Kevin F. Culhan, AIA, NCARB
Kevin Culhan, AIA, NCARB, joined the companies in 1997. As President of Allora, he manages the architectural department and coordinates the firms architectural and development services. Kevin received a Masters Degree from the University of Florida and has over 24 years of architectural experience encompassing a wide range of project types and sizes. His career has focused on the creative aspects of the profession and he, and the firm, has garnered numerous design awards. Kevin utilizes his talent and experience in custom home, multi-family, amenity, and commercial design, as well as land planning, to create exciting, innovative projects for the firm's diversified clients.
Operations Manager - Richie Martin
Prior to attending college, Richard had eight years of residential construction experience. After graduating from Clemson University with a Bachelors of Science in Design in 1999, Richard joined the Donald A. Gardner companies that same year. Moving to Allora in 2002, Richard currently works on high-end custom projects, including single and multi-family residences, with a concentration on coastal projects. Richard is positioned in the South Carolina Lowcountry where he works on projects and acts as an Allora agent.
Project Manager – Jonathan Hyman
A Clemson University graduate, Jonathan holds a Bachelors Degree in Architecture Design, a Master of Architecture Degree, and a Master of City and Regional Planning Degree. Jonathan joined Allora in May 2004, bringing experience in commercial, educational, mixed-use, and town center design, as well as experience in planning and preservation. He is an Associate member of the AIA, a member of the Urban Land Institute, and is a US Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Accredited Professional. As Intern Architect for Allora, Jonathan handles custom residential projects, multi-family residential projects, and land planning.
Project Manager - James Mills
A graduate of Clemson University’s Architecture program with a Bachelor's Degree in Design, James brings to Allora more than five years of experience in residential, commercial, and industrial design. He joined the Donald A. Gardner companies in 2004 and began working with Allora in 2005. James will oversee the production of construction drawings for Allora’s custom clients, as well as updating existing plans in the Allora portfolio with an eye towards construction methods, quality and cost-effectiveness.
Intern - Don Guarcello
Don Guarcello is an Intern Architect for Allora, LLC . Previously, Don worked in a New Jersey firm specializing in high-end residential architecture. Don has a Master of Architecture degree and a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture Design from Clemson University. As Intern Architect for Allora, Don will work handle custom residential projects and multi-family residential projects.
